As one of the first company in Korea to manufacture and supply hydrodynamic bearings to the Nuclear industry in the beginning and as a Q level quality holder from KEPCO Nuclear power, we have been contributing to the nuclear industry, hydroelectric industry, thermal industry and other power generation industry with our generator bearings (journal and tilting pad), and turbine bearings and assemblies (journal and tilting pad).
These include steam turbine, gas turbines, marine shafts, pumps and motor that run on speed higher than 3000 RPM, or machinery running over 500 HP. Hydrodynamic bearings provide journal & thrust combined bearing support for turbomachinery with a longer life time than ball bearing or roller bearings from the lubrication that prevents contact between the rotating parts of the bearings.
The first tilting pad bearing in service was probably built under A.G.M. Michell's guidance by George Weymoth (Pty) Ltd, for a centrifugal pump at Cohuna on the Murray River, Victoria, Australia, in 1907, just two years after Michell had published and patented his three-dimensional solution to Reynold's equation By 1913, the great merits of the tilting-pad bearing had been recognised for marine applications.
